Long overshadowed by the racy and exuberant 275 GTB/4, the 330 GTC has finally emerged into the limelight. This automobile is now recognized as the progenitor of a new line of models at Ferrari S.p.A.

Enzo Ferrari realized the need to fill the gap that existed in his offerings with an automobile that uses a different build architecture. The resultant was a consequential model that distilled the best available technologies. It clearly delineated between racers disguised as road cars and grand touring models that cater to the comfort of their occupants.

The market response was very supportive indeed. As a result, Ferrari began to offer GT models richly appointed for use by owners who longed for refinement and style. These were distinguished by high level of performance and exquisite accoutrements. The 330 GTC is the pivotal model that permitted Ferrari to expand its product line and cater to a larger customer base worldwide.

This 376-page, eight-chapter monograph comprises more than 850 photos. It is dedicated solely to the 330 GTC and the derivative models that ensued. Presented in great detail are the development and engineering of this venerable automobile.

In it, the reader will learn how the 330 GTC was engineered and its shape designed by Pininfarina. A chapter by Aldo Brovarone describes his career and the design process in his role at the head of Pininfarina design. Tom Tjaarda writes in his own chapter the history of Italian Automobile design and its ascent to prominence. He provides an informative and detailed design critique of this model.

In a separate chapter owners share their ownership experiences with the 330 GTC and recount their fondness of it.

The book also lists the cars that were modified by their owners throughout the years.

Chapter 8 presents in detail, from the factory archives, the chassis numbers of all cars sold since the model’s introduction and their colors combination. They are presented in LHD, RHD and convertible configuration.

The foreword of the book was graciously written by Paolo Pininfarina who shares, in touching details, his memories of the car his father owned while at the head of the design firm.

The book is intended to be an homage to the men and women who worked at Ferrari and Pininfarina to create superlative automobiles. They bring us driving joy and fulfillment while keeping the flame of our passion burning strongly.
